Final Fantasy Tactics
From FFOWA Wiki
The world is slowly recovering from the impact of the 'Fifty Year War', though it left a bigger scar than one would think. Wizards and Knights turned against the Nobles, as they cast these veterans of war aside, without giving them their deserved gratitude and honor. Respect for the Nobles vanished into the thin air, and out from the shadows came groups of bandits, terrorists and rebels - formed by the veterans of the war.
King Atkascha has fallen ill, and is looking upon his final hours. His children, Princess Ovelia and Prince Orinas are the rightful heirs to the throne, but with Prince Larg and Duke Goltana fighting for the throne, Ivalice is on the verge of a civil war between the two. This is only the beginning of what will later be known as 'The Lion War'.
You take the role as Ramza Beoulve, son of the late General Balbanes, one of the great heroes of the Fifty Year War. Ramza is accepted at the Gariland Academy, where he, due to his father's wishes, will follow the Beoulve tradition as proud and noble Knights.
While fighting a rebel group called the 'Death Corp', Ramza realizes that there is something wrong with the way his brothers, Dycedarg and Zalbag, wage war. After the tragic events at Fort Zeakden, Ramza distances himself from the Beoulve family.
But is everything really what it's made up to be? Something large is at stake, something even larger than the 'Lion War' itself.
